Resumo
Pressuposto: O sucesso de um líder reside na sua propensão para a Gestão da dicotomia emoção/razão.
Entender as características organizacionais atuais sem atender a aspectos emocionais, morais, sociais e éticos no desempenho do sujeito onde não esteja incluída a Inteligência Emocional é, e porventura será, uma questão que ainda merece críticas das mais distintas ideologias, porque embora tenhamos que reconhecer que o foco ainda tenha tendência a ser mantido nas competências técnicas em detrimento das emocionais, são estas últimas que estarão a ter mais sucesso nos seus resultados tanto na pessoa como na empresa, em suma, na própria sociedade.
Tendo como base esta premissa, a presente dissertação terá como objetivo perceber até que ponto os diversos agentes e respetivas funções na empresa X entendem e atendem à importância da IE em função da sua instrução incluir ou não formação em Ciências Sociais onde é colocada a questão: Será a formação em Ciências sociais o preditor da propensão da Inteligência Emocional do sujeito?
Na revisão de leitura será abordada a evolução e definição do conceito bem como das componentes integrantes do mesmo e respetiva aplicabilidade no mundo organizacional.
Este estudo será uma investigação de carácter descritivo, exploratório e correlacional fundamentado numa metodologia quantitativa com o objectivo de compreender a existência de relação entre a formação em Ciências Sociais, a propensão para a Inteligência Emocional e respetivas competências, aplicado através de inquéritos a profissionais do Grupo X, onde mediante os resultados conseguidos, tentar-se-á perceber se as Ciências Sociais influem na propensão do sujeito para a Inteligência Emocional.
Os resultados desta investigação concluíram como estatisticamente positiva a correlação entre as Ciências Sociais e a propensão para a Inteligência Emocional sendo que os valores são significativamente mais elevados no que respeita à primeira competência definida por Daniel Goleman, a Autoconsciência.
Presupposition: A leader’s success resides in his propensity to the management of the dichotomy emotion/reason. Understanding the current organizational characteristics without understanding emotional, moral, social and ethic aspects of the subject’s performance where Emotional inteligence isn’t included is, and most probably will be, a matter that still deserves criticism from the most distinct ideologies, because even though we must recognize that the focus still has a tendency to be kept in the technical competences instead of the emotional ones, these last ones are the ones that are having more success in its results, in people as well as in the companies, which can be read as society itself. Having this premiss as a basis, the present dissertation has as its goal to comprehend to what point the multiple agents and their positions in company X understand and comply with the importance of Emotional inteligence, according to their schooling including (or not) knowledge on Social Sciences, which allows to pose the question: Is the knowledge on Social Sciences the predictor of the subject’s propensity for Emotional inteligence? The evolution and definition of the concept as well as of its integrating components and respective application in the organizational world will be approached in the revision of reading. This study is going to be an investigation of descriptive, exploratory and correlational character, substantiated by a quantitative methodology with the aim of understanding the existence of a relation between education on Social Sciences, the propensity for Emotional inteligence and the respective skills, applied through inquires filled by workers from group X, where it will be attempted to understand if the Social Sciences influence the subjects propensity for Emotional inteligence by taking the results of the inquires into consideration. The results of this investigation concluded the correlation between Social Sciences and the propensity for Emotional inteligence as statistically positive since the values are much more significant when the first competency defined by Daniel Goleman, self-awareness, is concerned
