Vinculação romântica na gravidez e coparentalidade no período após o parto : o papel mediador da satisfação conjugal

É na transição para a parentalidade que emerge a relação coparental, podendo ser influenciada pelas representações de vinculação. A satisfação conjugal também é central na formação da relação coparental. Este estudo é inovador ao procurar informar acerca dos mecanismos explicativos da associação entre a vinculação romântica e a coparentalidade. O objetivo desde estudo foi analisar o papel mediador da satisfação conjugal na associação entre a vinculação romântica e a coparentalidade. A amostra foi constituída por 109 mães, recrutadas no Norte e Área Metropolitana de Lisboa. As participantes preencheram Experiências nas Relações Próximas e o Questionário de Satisfação Conjugal no 3º trimestre de gravidez e a Escala de Relação Coparental aos 2 meses após parto. Os resultados demonstraram que (1) a dimensão ansiedade e evitamento de vinculação romântica associaram-se negativamente à coparentalidade cooperante e à satisfação conjugal, e positivamente à coparentalidade conflituosa; (2) a satisfação conjugal associou-se positivamente à coparentalidade cooperante e negativamente à coparentalidade conflituosa; e (3) a satisfação conjugal mediou a relação entre a vinculação romântica e a coparentalidade. Torna-se crucial uma avaliação precoce das representações de vinculação e satisfação conjugal na gravidez para identificar as mulheres em risco de ter uma coparentalidade conflituosa no após o parto.
It is in the transition to parenthood that the coparenting relationship emerges and can be influenced by attachment representations. Marital satisfaction is also central to the development of the coparenting relationship. This innovative study aims to provide information about the mechanisms that may explain the association between romantic attachment and coparenting. The aim of this study was to analyze the mediating of marital satisfaction in the association between romantic attachment and coparenting. The sample was composed of 109 mothers, recruited in the North and Lisbon Metropolitan Area. The participants completed the Experience in Close Relationships Scale and the Couples Satisfaction Index in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and the Coparental Relationship Scale at 2 months postpartum. The results showed that (1) attachment-related anxiety and avoidance were negatively associated with coparenting cooperation and marital satisfaction, and positively associated with coparenting conflict; (2) marital satisfaction was positively associated with coparenting cooperation and negatively associated with coparenting conflict; and (3) marital satisfaction mediated the relationship between romantic attachment and coparenting. Early screening of romantic attachment representations and marital satisfaction during pregnancy is crucial in order to identify women at higher risk of coparenting conflict after childbirth.
