Relatório de estágio realizado no Clube Desportivo Nacional – desenvolvimento de um gabinete de scouting : época desportiva 2024/2025

Resumo
O relatório refere-se à modalidade de futebol, desenvolvido no contexto competitivo do Clube Desportivo Nacional (CDN), situado na Região Autónoma da Madeira. O estágio decorreu durante a época 2023/2024, no âmbito do Mestrado em Futebol - Da Formação à Alta Competição (Universidade Lusófona). O trabalho centrou-se na criação e operacionalização de um Gabinete de Scouting (GS), atuando simultaneamente na equipa Juvenis A e como responsável pela identificação e recrutamento de talentos entre os 10 e os 17 anos. O processo de treino e competição desenvolvido ao longo do estágio foi alicerçado na construção e operacionalização de um Gabinete de Scouting. A estrutura pensada visa atender às necessidades específicas do clube, promover uma metodologia integrada e fortalecer os processos de deteção de talento com recursos humanos e tecnológicos. A articulação entre diferentes departamentos, como o técnico, o de formação e a direção, foi considerada essencial para garantir decisões estratégicas de recrutamento alinhadas com a filosofia institucional. O estudo técnico-científico teve como principal contributo uma análise qualitativa, conduzida através de entrevistas com figuras relevantes do futebol português, permitindo compreender as diferentes perspetivas sobre scouting. Destacou-se a ausência de uma estrutura funcional no clube, os desafios financeiros que limitam a expansão do departamento, e a necessidade de um modelo de jogador ajustado ao contexto do Clube Desportivo Nacional. Os resultados reforçam a relevância da sistematização da informação recolhida e da implementação de ferramentas que agilizem o processo de avaliação de atletas. As considerações finais apontam para a importância estratégica de um departamento de scouting bem estruturado. O estágio proporcionou ao estagiário um contacto direto com o futebol profissional, permitindo aplicar conhecimentos académicos em situações práticas. Conclui-se que, mesmo num clube com recursos limitados, é possível iniciar um projeto viável e sustentável de scouting, desde que seja cuidadosamente planeado e implementado com base numa abordagem colaborativa e adaptada à realidade local.
The report pertains to the sport of football, developed within the competitive context of Clube Desportivo Nacional (CDN), located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The internship was conducted during the 2023/2024 season as part of the Master's Degree in Football – From Youth Development to High Performance (Universidade Lusófona). The core of the work focused on the creation and implementation of a Scouting Department (SD), while simultaneously acting as head coach of the Under-17 team and assuming responsibility for the identification and recruitment of talent aged between 10 and 17 years old. The training and competition process throughout the internship was anchored in the design and operationalization of the Scouting Department. The proposed structure aimed to address the club’s specific needs, foster an integrated methodology, and reinforce talent detection procedures through human and technological resources. Coordination between various departments—technical, academy, and executive management—was considered essential to ensure strategic recruitment decisions aligned with the institutional philosophy. The technical-scientific study contributed mainly through qualitative analysis, based on interviews with key stakeholders in Portuguese football, allowing for a broad understanding of the different perspectives on scouting. The findings highlighted the absence of a functional structure within the club, financial constraints affecting departmental growth, and the need for a player profile model tailored to CDN’s competitive and cultural context. The results emphasized the importance of systematizing collected data and deploying tools that streamline the player evaluation process. Final considerations underline the strategic importance of a well-structured scouting department. The internship offered the trainee direct contact with professional football, enabling the application of academic knowledge to real-world scenarios. It was concluded that even in clubs with limited resources, a viable and sustainable scouting project can be initiated, provided it is carefully planned and executed through a collaborative approach adapted to the local environment.
